Any future for the Nokia Internet Tablet? Doh! Yes!

When I first encountered the Nokia Internet Tablet, I thought, “Gosh what a great e-reader!” I’ve used each NIT as an e-reader but I learned what it’s great at is, well, doing the internet thing. As its name suggests.

I thought GPS was a natural win. The big screen made maps easier to read than on most dedicated devices. Still, I used my tablet for email more often than GPS.

The voip calls with visuals blew me away. Except no one with a tethered connection bought into cam-calling.

The 770, the N800, the N810 — these were all complete computers! They meant I didn’t have to lug around a laptop just in case I had real work to do. But I did most of my real work on a real computer and my wife never got the hang of using a NIT. My son’s friends found the iPod Touch easier for surfing and he never cottoned to it.

With its touch screen, I didn’t need a keyboard, but I liked the N810 keyboard. The keyboard made apps easier to port anyway.

And Flash! Once it became clear that “internet” meant surfing without sideways scrolling, email, and videos on YouTube, the internet tablet excelled at giving me the internet.

Well, excelled in lots of circumstances. Without a cell-plan data connection the walkaround web had no impact on NIT users. The Apple iPhone has a minuscule segment of the smartphone market but generates 50 percent of mobile web use. Apple’s genius wasn’t in the interface but in browbeating AT&T into affordable web access.

Does the Nokia Internet Tablet have a real future? We have a $200 netbook and it’s easier for conference notetaking than an N810. I have an Amazon Kindle 2 and I can get books for it that aren’t available for FBReader on my NITs. Half the cars have GPS built-in now anyway. So what’s the sweet spot for the Internet Tablet?

Doh!. The internet, same as it’s always been.

Except these days, “the internet” means Twitter, too. With multi-tasking so I can tweet full-screen and use multiple screens to follow several hundred people (in more than one group). With keyboard and touch-screen and audio and photos too. And from anywhere I might be, um-m, walking around.

I can tweet from a phone now, thank you very much, but making sure it fits is no piece of cake. Tweeting means editing down to 140 characters without having to struggle. And reading (following), tweeting and surfing simultaneously? Hey, where’s my computer again? At least Maemo was built for us to do more than one thing at a time.

I expect there will be lots of cellphones released this year that have keyboards and screens of a satisfactory size and cameras. Just having good specs won’t draw much attention. But if the next NIT can ace the Twitter test and fly the Flash flag, it’ll be very much in demand.

Nokia 6600i slide Review

Nokia 6600 launched in April last year received a facelift, even though the handset is no older than one year. The new device is called Nokia 6600i slide and features just about the same technical specifications, as well as design. Still, the few differences between the two might tip the balance in 6600i's favor, as it has a longer battery standby time, Flash Lite 3.0 support and a better 5 Megapixel built-in camera. Add to that a revamped designed and you have a genuine slider capable of good market sales. Small and chic, Nokia 6600i slide can be a good choice for those looking for a simple phone, but yet powerful and sturdy. The metallic surfaces of the handset make it highly resistant to possible drops or scratches, so this is just another advantage that you get for a not so high price.

Announced in May 2009, Nokia 6600i slide was made available on the market only in October and can be acquired for about 200 Euros, excluding taxes and subsidies. The slider is available in two colors, Black and Silver.

Design

The resemblance between Nokia 6600 and 6600i sliders is astonishing. Both have the same sizes (93 x 45 x 14 mm), even the same weight (110g including battery). The only thing that looks different is the four buttons surrounding the D-pad. While the 6600 slide features two buttons arranged on two vertical plates, the 6600i slide has its four buttons arranged solely around the D-pad. I think this makes it easier to use the keys, as well as the D-pad. The metallic cover that encloses the device is just another guarantee that the phone will last longer than the usual plastic covered handsets. The sturdiness of the device is unquestionable, as well as its closing mechanism, which seems to work smoothly and doesn't jog at all. Its small size is another advantage, as it will perfectly fit in any pocket, the only issue probably being the weight.

Nokia 6600i slide features a 2.2-inch TFT display and a secondary videocall camera just above the screen. To the left of the secondary camera, an ambient light sensor can be noticed and the in-call speaker. Below the screen, there's a D-pad controller surrounded by four keys: two contextual keys, Accept calls and Reject calls keys. On the right side of the slider, near the top, there's a small 2.5-mm port jack, which indicates that the gadget is not a music phone. On the top of the handset, there's a small microUSB port covered by a small plastic band and a small button that will help users pull out the back cover of the slider.

The only thing I found as a downside for the phone is the keypad, which is very small overall. That will probably create some problems for the people whose thumbs are a little bit bigger. Otherwise, the keys are responsive enough and benefit from good backlighting. On the back side, there's a 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus capabilities and flash.

Unfortunately, it doesn't have any protective cover, so it is exposed to scratches. Another downside of the device might be the fact that its microSD slot card is placed under the battery, which makes it impossible to pull out while the phone is powered on. Overall, Nokia 6600i slide is one of the best designed in terms of ergonomics and look. If you are crazy for slider handsets, Nokia 6600i is a very good choice, as its price and stylish look

Display and Camera

Nokia 6600i slide benefits from a 2.2-inch TFT display that supports 16M colors and a 240x320-pixel resolution. Taking into consideration its target, the size of the screen doesn't bother too much. The colors, contrast, as well as the quality of the image displayed are some of the best. Add to that the perfect sunlight eligibility and you get an excellent display that can meet any user’s expectations. The phone also benefits from the accelerometer feature, but only for the clock and turn-to-mute feature. These can be activated by tapping the back of the gadget twice when it's in standby mode. The clock will be displayed on the screen for a few seconds. The accelerometer doesn't work for any other feature in the phone.

The 5 Megapixel camera embedded in the Nokia 6600i slide has auto-focus and LED flash. In terms of performance, the camera makes quite nice pictures, even though you have such a small preview screen and a standard interface. The only drawback I found is the fact that the gadget lacks a dedicated camera button. Users will have the option to turn the screen on portrait or landscape, before picturing, and mute the camera sound. Geo-tagging function is out of the question as the device misses a built-in GPS receiver.

The user-interface settings are standard for a 5 Megapixel camera and don't include anything revolutionary. The maximum resolution supported is of 2,592x1,944 pixels. The autofocus works like a charm and the D-pad button must be used as shutter button.

There are no specially created functions for this camera, but, as you can see from the screenshots, all of them remain very easy to use. The same goes for the video camera, which can capture VGA (15fps) clips in the MP4 format or 3GPP, depending on the quality you choose.

Menu and Software

6600i slide runs on an S40 6th Edition interface, which is the latest user-interface coming from Nokia. One of the most user-friendly interfaces on the market, the S40 seems unchanged on the surface, and offers the user an excellent experience. Still, there are some tweaks and reshapes, which are taking this experience to a new level. The icons of the menus have been changed, but the 3D animation has been taken off.

The icons in the main menu can be rearranged to simulate the older 5th Edition interface if you feel you like it more. The firmware includes the Flash Lite player, which has been updated to version 3 and Flash Lite content can now be used as an “organic” wallpaper. Also, MMS has been updated to version 1.3 and message support has been improved to accept 600KB attachments. There is some better support for WMA and WMV codecs, the most important improvement embedded in the S40 6th Edition interface of the new web browser. It now includes the Web-kit based browser that was ported from the Symbian smartphones.

The handset has some useful applications, such as Search, Alarm clock, Calendar, To-do list, Notes, Calculator, Countdown timer, World Clock and Stopwatch. The menu is fully customizable and you can designate any MP3, MIDI or AAC file as a ringtone. The phonebook can store up to 2,000 contacts, and each can be filled with up to five different phone numbers. The fonts can be customized, but only those displayed when opening the Contacts, Web browser and messaging sections.

Also, some Java games come preinstalled – Bounce Tales, Brain Champ, Seasweeper and Snake III. The phone is compatible with Java MIDP 2.1 applications, but there is a limit to the size of any application that you might want to install on it, and that's the usual 1MB. This might be the case for most Java-compatible applications, but I noticed that I could run some files that were around 1.5MB in size. Nevertheless, not all Java applications will work on this mid-end device, so you might want to try that out for yourselves.

Communication

Nokia 6600i slide is fully compatible with GPRS and EDGE Class 32, as well as the 3G networks. Benchmarks revealed that the device attains good scores in terms of the data-transfer speed (EDGE 148 Kbit/s download and 77 Kbit/s upload; 3G only 322 Kbit/s download and 93 Kbit/s upload), but that may greatly vary depending on the location and carrier.

The phone also features Bluetooth 2.0 and microUSB 2.0. Synchronization with the PC is possible through the proprietary microUSB port, but charging is also possible through the USB cable. The phone lacks a built-in GPS receiver, but it features Nokia Maps.

In terms of messaging, the gadget accepts standard text messages, MMS 1.3 (600 KB attachments), as well as emails. The message client works with POP3, SMTP, and IMAP4 protocols, and supports more than one email account.

The quad-band (GSM 850 / GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900) network-compatible slider has a good GSM signal reception. The sound is above average in quality at both ends, and pretty loud. The vibration alert is very low, which means you will miss lots of phone calls if you keep it on the Silent profile.

Processor and Memory

Nokia 6600i slide isn't compatible with JBenchmark Pro, so I was forced to use the obsolete JBenchmark 1.0, 2.0, 3D and HD. Even if current devices are over-optimized against many of these old tests, I say that the results are pretty relevant if compared with other products in its range.

The slider is powered by an ARM11 family processor running at speeds of up to 465 MHz. While not the fastest phone on the market, Nokia 6600i slide features the same CPU that is usually embedded in the latest Nokia smartphones. The handset will not lag even when running a music player or radio in the background.

The Nokia 6600i slide phone embeds 20 MB of user free internal memory, which can be expanded up to 16GB, as it has a microSD slot card. The memory is not hot-swappable, as you must pull out the battery to be able to access the microSD slot card. The sales package also contains a 1GB microSD memory card.

Multimedia

As Nokia 6600i slide is not a music phone and does not target those looking for this kind of handsets, do not expect too many multimedia features. It only features the soon universal microUSB port together with some poor wired stereo headset (WH-203). Furthermore, as there's no 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter included in the sales package, you won't be able to change the headphones.

The slider has a cool, integrated MP3 player, compatible with MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ and WMA formats. The interface of the MP player looks extremely well and supports album animations, plus some basic settings such as the Equalizer, Stereo widening, Shuffle and Repeat. The Equalizer can be customized, or you can use the predefined settings: Normal, Pop, Rock, Jazz and Classical.

The lack of music-dedicated external keys can be replaced by a Bluetooth headset, as the phone supports the A2DP profile. The small loudspeaker on the back sounds average in intensity, but clearly lacks any sort of bass. There's also an FM radio with the RDS function that can replace the music player.

Battery

The 1000 mAh Li-Ion (BL-4U) battery has an officially stated life expectancy of 348 hours (300 on 3G) in standby and about four hours (three hours on 3G) in talk-time mode. If you're a heavy phone-talker, you will need to charge it once every two days. Overall, I'd say that the device's autonomy is not that good.

Impressions

Even though you might think that Nokia 6600i slide is an enhanced version of the 6600 slide handset, the improvements are reduced to two or three elements. The better camera is a worthy addition, but the real improvement is the enhanced standby time of the battery. It is a chic and stylish slider, which can be a very good choice as a middle class device.

The Good

Some of the highlights of the slider are the 5 Megapixel camera, the excellent display, as well as the nice look, which is a very important trait for a mobile phone nowadays. Also, the new, improved UI S40 6th Edition makes a good addition to this device.

The Bad

Only small drawbacks might stop someone from buying this phone. The small and crowded keypad or the low talking time offered by the battery are some of these downsides. Also, the lack of a dedicated camera button and 3.5mm audio jack port could be some of the negative aspects of the slider.

And after the basic java cell phone or mobile era have changed to something like the symbian smartphones or handhelds era, we can expect the application to keep up, can’t we? And that is exactly what Agile messenger have done. Agile messenger version 3.88, the latest one, supports video messaging and audio messaging! Can you believe that? I mean come on you are too impressive already damn it!!!!

With this unbelieveable application you can send messages directly to online or offline contacts of MSN, Yahoo!, Google Talk, AOL’s AIM and ICQ. Beside that you can save a few bucks on your text messages or SMS if you tend to use the messenger to send text messages, after all why not? Of course you won’t be charge for SMS messages but rather for your GPRS or 3G data packets. You can chat in conference mode is another option that has been integrated in this version. You can chat on the road, on the helicopter or even when you are offline. Another huge feature that Agile Messenger 3.88 brings is the Push-To-Talk feature where you can voice chat with almost anyone without using your calling function of the carrier. In other words you won’t be charged anything for calls made. How cool is that eh? Like the previous versions this version also supports sending and receiving of any pictures or audii or video or any other multimedia files to and from the phone, no matter wherever you might roam.

What really makes this application so much better than any other is however not only its loads of features but its cool, easy and features rich interface. The contact list can be zoomed, when someone signs in a cool sound can be turned on, the volume can be controlled, the emoticons are cute and morever you can sign in all clients at once. The speed of the transfer of the files depends entirely on your network carrier so if you are using 3G rather than EDGE or GPRS then you can expect it to perform at full flow. You can additionally sign in as offline and keep an eye on everyone if you like to watch!

So tell me something everyone, how do you Qeep? Lol. No no it sure is not a typo and actually today I am going to present you one of the finest and most feature packed application for mobile devices. For those who already have heard it all before, yes today I am featuring the social instant messenger called ‘Qeep’ (..love the name cause it sure is quite catchy!). For those who haven’t heard or used Qeep ever, well you better start using it right now or be left behind. So what exactly does Qeep offer which other similar, IM based application does not right? It is the same question I asked to myself when I heard about Qeep for the first time ever. Firstly, like many other IM based applications, Qeep is free! Like many other IM based mobile applications Qeep offers sending QMS (SMS of course lol) messages free! And like many other software, Qeep is lightweight and easy on the bills. There is a big plausible ‘but’ with Qeep though, Qeep lets you do a whole lot more than just IM-ing or stuff like that.

Qeep offers photo blogging, live chatting and the most terrific part of Qeep is “Multiplayer Gaming” on your smartphones! How much flash memory any application like this requires depends phone to phone but generally, they are all heavyweight champions and almost all of them immediately crashes when you are typing super fast like I do with the T9 dictionary on. Qeep however is super lightweight compared to all those other symbian or java based applications, Qeep consumes almost only half the memory compared to any other similar application if not any less so that’s a huge plus for any IM applications! I have been using it since last week to test it out and honestly I had doubts myself about the features and the size overall, but to my amazement, I must say that Qeep is really Qeeping me on my toes, but relaxed cause it hasn’t crashed even once. Can you imagine just how much flash memory does any other application like this consumes without even offering all these? Since I am a blogger I really dig the fact that it offers photo blogging on the go, no other application have that feature and honestly speaking I always had to shut off my IM application before opening up Opera Mobile to post in the blog (not this blog though). But with that application I already can actually launch and browse the web at the same time with Opera, though I actually don’t need to cause I can blog through the Qeep interface but I just had to test it out myself. I usually like lightweight IMs which just serves my purpose and keeps my bill under control, so I never was a fan of resource hoggers kinda applications (not naming any though, I am sure you all can guess) and needed a Java based platform which I can actually keep open and running in the background when I am browsing the web. I also love the fact that you can send SMS on the go without actually involving your network SMS gateway. So the cost of SMS is really zero, you will be charged by your operator though for the GPRS, WAP, EDGE, 3G, UMTS HSDPA or whatever else is applicable in your case.

One of the most interesting features of Qeep is that you can actually play multiplayer games online with your friends. All the games are really simple but quite engaging to say the very least. And since you will be playing with or against your friends and foes, you can be pretty sure that it will be that damn hard to win which really makes it much more fun! I hate easy mobile games, I hate complicated but I absolutely love competitive games and almost all the games will test your skills, especially your Brain Department.You can chat and blog and play online mulitplayer mobile games and open Opera Mobile in the background and receive calls, send and receive sms all at once!! Multitasking? You bet it is with the Qeep factor lol!!! Anyway you do have to sign up for Qeep on their official website located at Qeep.net before you can actually sign in and start to make friends, registration is definitely free my friends. The community is really buzzing all the time and as much as I know they have more than 200,000 registered Qeepers (including me) who will surely be Qeeping you busy with Qeep! (Damn this word is catchy!). Within all my excitement, I now realize I have forgot to mention that with Qeep you can send “Qool Qounds” …err I meant ‘cool sounds’ lol. They are all really funny sounds, like the audio versions of the famous MSN “wink”. They will play on your friends handset if they kept the sound option activated as well.

Anyway, enough Qeeping from me for one day! May you all have an awesome time just like I am having with Qeep and do add me there as a friend if you can. This multi featured Instant Messenger will support all your N-Series or E-Series cell phones or pda, S60 or S40 or anything else you might be using. Since I am a Nokiddict, I am mentioning some of the Nokia phones which surely works with this one. Not only that, since you were born and started to get out of momma’s couch I am sure all of you made friends. Then you hit childhood right? Your first mobile might be a Nokia 8250 or a Siemens A10 with a calculator like display and most of you took your friends to the shop to buy them just like I did. Some of those childhood friends are still with you and some are lost in the transition of being a man or taking up responsibilities of your family. Now when you are at work in the office you don’t get friends but only colleagues and you know you miss your best friend or your dearest one who might be living in a different country, with different people or in your country working his/her butt off just like you. Work won’t let you get in facebook (unless via FaceBook on symbian!) or msn messenger so that you can chat to them when you are free or even when you are not free. Bloody firewalls! No matter wherever you are, stay connected to your friends, families or even your foes (…maybe) with this next free application I am going to publish!

Yepp! That is the exact name of this symbian application through which you will be connected with your online or offline friends through MSN messenger or AOL, ICQ and Yahoo messenger or any other messenger for that fact. Slick is an “all in one” social messenger with rich features which can save you money and can be quite exciting. Not only that, through the new Slick IM client you will be able to group talk or conference talk on the go straight from your mobile using internet data connectivity and nothing else.

The wonders of Nokia mobile phones is certainly its user friendly graphical user interface (or GUI) and the ability of its engine to efficiently use the operating system, mainly the open source Symbian OS. This particular messenger have two things which it seems to keep in mind when it was built for the first time, ease of use and rich features.

Most of the times when you mix those two you get neither of them. Either you end up with a memory eating monster or you end up with a simple IM client which only lets you talk through MSN or Yahoo! which really is not utilizing the capability of a Nokia smartphone like the high end devices from S60 N-Series or E-Series. Nokia N95 was a total success for Nokia but one thing that even that fantastic pda like handset or mobile phone lacked was the ability of it to communicate through different external protocols.

Slick IM client deminishes that entirely and lets you use your smartphones to the fullest. With the Slick IM application installed on your symbian 3rd edition devices you will be able to talk in real time to your friends no matter how far they, whether they are using a desktop, laptop or a Nokia like you makes no difference to what Slick IM can provide you at your end. With the Slick instant messenger installed in your phone memory you will not have to display that you are from Slick in your status message in MSN messenger. Slick also supports AIM, ICQ, Google Chat, Jabber, Yahoo! Messenger beside the most widely used MSN Messenger. Just like in the laptop or PC, when a member signs in you will get a notification alert and the same goes for any incoming messages.

Slick also lets you control the sound options from low to a very high. You can turn on or off the IM history depending on how you want it to be. If you are unsure about privacy then my personal opinion is to turn that feature off cause IM histories can be quite personal for some people. It also offers offline message sending, though it depends on what protocol you are using and if that particular protocol supports it or not. 8 Excellent Push Mail Applications for Mobile

There are multiple number of E-Mail clients that you can use for your regular inbox checking in POP or SMTP mode. While some are amazingly expensive compared to the features, some are simply outstanding in every single way even though it is free! I have compiled a complete list of the best and most excellent Nokia E-Mail clients that you can currently use on your N-Series or E-Series smartphones.

All these Nokia Push Mail clients are free for personal use and should come real handy when you have the need to be connected with your mailbox regularly (like myself). Your suggestions are most welcome and if you feel that I missed anything then feel free to let me know through the comments and I will surely add it if it is applicable.

Almost all the mobile softwares that are listed below provide attachment & images support, Spam Bam!, CC & BCC facilities, IMAP & POP functions, signature support, mark unmark features among others.

Hence, in no particular order here is a compilation of 8 excellent Nokia e-mail clients that supports Push Mail (e.g. of companies that provide push mail is Google Mail, Hotmail, Yahoo! etc and servers that supports Push Mail are more commonly the Microsoft Exchange Servers such as Outlook) services and facilities:

Nokia E-Mail Client: First and foremost the official Nokia E-Mail client is certainly one of the most user friendly application to date for any sort of e-mail management from your smartphones. It supports countless E-Mail service providers including AOL & Gmail and is a very new solution for end users. The biggest plus for this software is that it can automatically configure your service provider for your login address.

LCG ProfiMail: One of the earliest Push mail application introduced for any Nokia symbian cell phone is ProfiMail by Lonely Cat Games. Highly usable and much lightweight with attachment download capability ProfiMail also features multiple color switching GUI. However, you will have to configure Profimail manually for any email delivery unless you can get a hold of the profile settings of your email services provider. Additionally, it supports autocompletion of addresses, spam filters and the superb ‘offline mailbox’ feature. Also, just for the sake of information: it only supports Google Mail!

Windows Live Messenger & Mail (Mobile): The official Windows Live Messenger for Nokia enables you to keep connected to your Hotmail account by automatically configuring Microsoft Hotmail on your cell phone. Windows Live Messenger & Mail for Nokia additionally lets you exchange files and instant messaging through Windows Live Messenger from your cell phone. It supports both the attachments and images.

Seven Mail: Seven Mail is a purely corporate mobile email management solution in nature which is similar to BlackBerry Connect. However the personal edition lets you read your mail in a simple, easy to manage way. It also supports attachments and images beside the usual POP & Exchange servers. Also this version available in our blog will let you check emails from outside work and including those of GMAIL, Yahoo!, Microsoft Hotmail etc.

MOrange: MOrange is one of the most feature rich all in one application that supports Push Mail. It also provides features like Chat, Facebook, Orkut & other Social Activities, RSS News Readers, Multiple Personal Instant Messaging, etc) The biggest drawback of this J2ME mobile application is that it consumes much more cache memory (RAM) that you can imagine. E-Moze: Slowly but surely E-Moze have gained popularity and so it should. It is similar to System Seven Mail in terms of features but consumes much less memory. However, E-Moze requires you to have a live (running) server and might not be the proper solution for individuals with business E-mail requirements. The premium version however is quite damn good and supports it all.

Mail for Exchange: A newly launched, hassle free push mail client for almost all Nokia S60 9.1, 9,2 etc symbian cell phones. It uses the powerful ActiveSync technology for mail box synchronization on mobile and over the web. It supports all the standard features and uses much less memory than some other similar mobile email clients.

Facebook Application – Nokia

Finally the dedicated Facebook application is now available for download and use for your latest S60 5th edition Nokia phones. From now on you can update your Facebook profile status, share and upload various images, post comments on your friends wall straight from your Nokia N97, Nokia XpressMusic 5800 Touch UI and other S60 5th edition devices.

Admit it that the Nokia N97 powers itself quite well and is probably the better of the two when compared to the iPhone. As we all know that the Touch UI based Nokia N97 is surely set to become the next big thing in the smartphones market with a 16:9 screen resolution (640 x 360 pixel ratio), built in 32GB of memory and 5MB LED Flash camera. The fact that N97 comes with a built in interface for Social Web 2.0 apps makes it even better, something that other similar mobile computers lack (like the 5800 XpressMusic). All in all Twittix is set to be one of the best solution out there for you to keep connected with your friends, followers and other contacts in Twitter. For a very few of us, Twittix may lose out marginally to Gravity because of its classic overall appearance but it provides the true simplicity in navigation which makes up the appearance factor. Just a matter of personal choice and taste!

Those two are my personal favs amongst all the twitter apps out there but I also feel that you should check out some symbian mobile and Java based freewares that are dedicated to Twitter because they can be equally good to Gravity and Twittix:

TweetS60: A simply S60 java based application which lets you post tweets, reply to tweets and browse the profile and images faster than the default internet client of the phone. It also lets you manage the basic stuffs of your profile from your phone. It also supports the polling function to S60 version 5 mobile phones.

SnapTu: SnapTu is an all in one client for your mobile. It lets you post to twitter with dedicated support for twitpic. It is lightweight and also supports viewing of external public feeds of your friends in Twitter.

Stew: Stew is not really an application for S60, rather it’s a widget for S60 5th edition phones. With Stew for Twitter you will be able to post twits and pics on twitter from your XpressMusic or N97 smartphones. Stew also supports an one time automatic setting option for all your future sign in sessions.

uTweetMe: Another simple application that can manage your Twitter account free. A lightweight solution to a trimmed down list of services.

Twibble Mobile Client: A must have application for anyone who is looking to post their status automatically based on the details of the GPS location that he or she is. Twibble supports these location based GPS status updates across multiple social services like Twitter, Facebook, MySpace etc. It also supports all the major functions of Twitter like posting tweets, follow ups, Twitter Search Integration, Image Sharing etc. This amazing free client also supports SSL based encryption for login and management.

Wizi: Another application that can be used for sharing live status and name of the location you are in is Wizi. Currently Wizi status updates are dedicated to Twitter only and it updates the status message of your profile in real time.

Twim: Twim is another free software for mobile phones of Series 60 symbian. Lets you perform the basic twitter services and also supports images, videos etc.

Abiro Jitter: Another lightweight twitter client which lets you send and receive tweets without much complication or fuss!

I am Doing: A very small Python based application for S60 which can post twits and pics from your Python supported Nokia phone.

Think of it, if you are an windows live spaces blogger or webmaster, this is a dream kit for you. If you are not, well still then it is a dream kit for you cause the messenger interface is far more superior than anything else out there in the mobile applications market.

With the latest Push version of this MSN Mobile Hotmail, you can be sure that you will never miss another mail due to access problems. It even has the auto complete feature enabled so that when you want to mail someone and you forget their email address, you can still email them by just typing what you remember about that person, let it be their email name or address.
